The Japanese flag that was captured at the Battle of Okinawa. The notorious solid red circle in the center of the banner with Jap-anese characters printed on the left, top and right margins, respectively, which translates as the following:

 

"Our Military Strength Will Last Forever";

 

"To Spread National Pride Across the Land"

 

"Hoping for a Quick War".

 

After the war, the flag was preserved at the Second Armored Division Museum in Fort Hood, Texas. It was then transferred to the Admiral Nimitz Museum.
